Setting Out & Surveying

Cooper Geomatics is usually hired by the Company who does the work such as Erith, Mackleys, Jones Bros, J A Burke, Wooldridge, Bam, Harringtons, Soldi, Careys etc rather than the company who just "delivers".  I come with the instrument (robotic and gnss), laptop, software etc so my involvement tends to be for long periods of time -  I like to think its because I'm pretty good at what I do and make myself indispensible, covering.......

I am proficient with Trimble and Leica robotic total stations and GPS instruments and mastered the art of data transfer between the instrument and design data. I am able to create 3d digital terrain models, from which I can easily answer the question that us engineers are always asked - how much is there to come off here? I have used Topcon and Leica in the past but I now prefer Trimble. I was proficient with Leica Viva & Captivate software and my preferred instrument was until 4 May 21 the TS15. I can do everything I need to do with my Trimble robotic, gnss and trimble access software.

The Company had 4 good years with the Leica TS15 robotic instrument and coud I do everything I need to do with it. The Trimble, in my opinion is just better. The Company has also invested in a high spec laptop with autocad, civil 3d, LSS, Topcon Office, Topcon 3dMC, Leica Icon 3d, Trimble Earthworks and TBC. installed. It basically means I can just get on with it!!

GPS Instruments

I am proficient with Leica GPS instruments and it has proved invaluable especially at Berewood. With 2700m of footpath through the countryside and 1700m of rising main again through the fields - it has made my life so much easier ! I understand their benefits and limitations, how to localise and by keeping an eye on the 3dcq I can tell when the data is good.

It is particularly useful for stockpile surveys, earthworks, topo surveys etc so it was only a matter of time before I........
