coopergeomatics, based in Portsmouth are setting out engineers / engineering surveyors with over 15 years experience and BEng(Hons) in Civil Engineering, working for a variety of main and subcontractors on groundworks, building, infrastructure and civil engineering schemes. Cooper Geomatics Ltd has been trading since 2014. Our engineering surveyor (that'll be me then, David Cooper) is proficient in the use  of GPS and robotic instruments,  proficient at what I need to do with autocad and LSS. I am skilled in the creation of 3d digital terrain models for earthworks volumes, visualisations and machine control.  I still do all the traditional "peg bashing", but also autocad site layouts, 3d surfaces, visualisations, earthworks dtms, volumes and machine control files. If you can dig it, fill it, trim it or grade it, I can produce the models and files for Leica, Topcon  & Trimble machine control  to do it. I understand the concepts, benefits and limitations of gps. The Company has invested in a new Trimble s5 robotic instrument, a Trimble r10 gnss instrument, a high spec laptop and the annual licences for specialist software such as LSS so I can hit the ground running - the engineer, the instruments, the 4x4 wagon, the laptop, the software  including autocad and LSS - just give me access to the drawings and I'll do the rest.

I aim to offer a bit more than the stereotypical "I am only here for line and level mate" type site engineer of the past. Managing Director and engineering surveyor David Cooper is one of those rare people who actually enjoys their job and as such do it better.   There are many excellent site engineers out there who give value for money, care about their work and the Company's who hire them. I want to demonstrate that I am one of them. At the end of the day you are spending a lot of money on what is an unknown commodity and I want to show that I am a safe pair of hands who can be trusted.  I am aware my actions and instructions set off a process that can make or cost money. I value simple things like being on time, having a positive attitude, looking at what we can do rather than what we cant do, giving value for money and getting on with it.
